Save TikTok Videos on Android with the Share Sheet

A clip you want to keep goes by in your feed, and TikTok's own Save Video option lets you down. Half the time the creator has turned it off and there's no button at all. When it does save, the file that lands in your Gallery has the TikTok logo and the creator's @username drifting across the frame, so it plays like a copy of a copy.

The Play Store is full of apps that promise to fix this. Most bury you in full-screen ads, ask for permissions they have no reason to need, and still hand back a watermarked clip, sometimes re-compressed so it looks worse than the original as well. You don't need any of them. Android makes this genuinely easy once you skip the app store, because the Share menu can send a TikTok straight to a website.

Short answer: in TikTok, tap Share, choose Copy link, paste it into the downloader, and save the no-watermark MP4. It lands in your Downloads and shows up in your Gallery automatically.

Method 1 — Copy the link and paste it

This works on any Android phone right now, with nothing installed.

  1. In the TikTok app, tap the Share arrow under the video and choose Copy link. Short vm.tiktok.com links work too.
  2. Open Chrome and go to the downloader.
  3. Paste the link into the box at the top and let it read the post.
  4. Choose the no-watermark video. The clean MP4 saves to your Downloads folder and appears in your Gallery or Google Photos within a few seconds.

Samsung Internet and Firefox behave the same as Chrome, so use whichever browser you already have open. There's also a dedicated Android downloader page with the same box.

Method 2 — Install it as a share target

Android lets a website register as a share target, which turns the paste step into a direct hand-off from TikTok. Set it up once and you save a clip in a couple of taps.

  1. Open the downloader in Chrome, open the menu, and tap Add to Home screen. Confirm to install it as a lightweight web app.
  2. Now open TikTok, tap Share on any video, and look for this downloader in the share row.
  3. Tap it. The post opens here with the link already filled in, so you go straight to picking the no-watermark video.

Because it's a web app rather than a store download, there's nothing to update, no ads, and no permission requests beyond saving a file.

Where the file lands

Downloaded clips go to your Downloads folder and show up in the Gallery or Google Photos on their own, usually within seconds. They play in any video app with no converter, since the file is a standard MP4. If you wanted the sound rather than the footage, pick the MP3 option instead; the audio guide covers that route.

Troubleshooting

The downloader isn't in the Share menu. Install it with Add to Home screen first, then reopen TikTok's Share sheet. Android only lists installed web apps as share targets, and it can take a moment to register after install.

The video still shows a logo. You likely saved through the TikTok app or a downloader site that re-stamps files. Paste the original link here and pick the no-watermark option.

A private or friends-only account. Restricted posts sit behind a login, so no public tool can reach them. You'd need to be an approved follower saving from your own signed-in session.

It's a photo-mode post. Image carousels come down as the photos plus a separate audio track rather than one MP4, so don't expect a single video file.

The file didn't appear in the Gallery. Give it a few seconds to index, or open your Files app and check the Downloads folder directly.

Frequently asked questions

Is the download watermark-free on Android?

Yes. You get the clean MP4 with no TikTok logo and no @username overlay.

Do I need a downloader app?

No. This is a website. The only optional install is the home-screen web app, and that just adds the Share-menu shortcut.

Where are TikToks saved?

In your Downloads folder, and they appear in your Gallery or Google Photos automatically within a few seconds.

Can I save just the audio?

Yes. Choose the MP3 option; the TikTok to MP3 guide walks through it. The general steps are in how to download a TikTok video, and iPhone users have their own guide.
